Creating a vibrant future for people with Narcolepsy, IH and sleep disorders.

I Know What It's Like to Live With Narcolepsy

I’m Paul Poulos - a certified Human Potential Coach, Functional Breathing Instructor, psychology student, and founder of Narcolepsy Life Academy. I previously built a successful international career in leadership and wellbeing, before choosing to focus fully on coaching and supporting others living with narcolepsy and chronic fatigue. But before any of that, I’m someone who has lived with narcolepsy for over 25 years.

I know what it feels like to be misunderstood, misdiagnosed, and dismissed. I know how exhausting it is to try to explain something invisible. And I know how hard it is to build a life around unpredictability.

That’s why I created Narcolepsy Life Academy—to offer the kind of support, tools, and coaching I wish I had earlier. This isn’t just about managing symptoms. It’s about helping people rebuild their lives with energy, structure, identity, and momentum.

Meet the Founder of the Narcolepsy Life Academy - Paul Poulos.
I always look forward to my conversations with Paul. He is able to strike this unique balance of careful listening whilst sharing valuable insights. His open-ended questions approach definitely challenged me, but was effective as it shed new perspectives on my current situation. Thank you for the inspiring and insightful sessions!

My Approach

My coaching is grounded in lived experience and backed by training in:

  • Acceptance and Commitment Coaching (ACT)

  • Positive Psychology

  • Behavioural Science and Habit Formation

  • Breathwork and Nervous System Regulation

  • Performance Coaching

  • Somatic and Strengths-Based Coaching

  • Solution-Focused Coaching

I blend science with compassion, structure with flexibility, and mindset with practical tools.

In addition to coaching techniques, I integrate knowledge across areas like nutrition, sleep science, neurohacking, and nootropics to support cognitive function and energy regulation.

Whether we’re working 1:1, in a group program like RISE UP, or through the Kaizen Life Academy platform, the goal is always the same: Help you create a system that works with your biology — not against it.

Personalised, Not Prescribed

We build your system based on your biology, energy patterns, and lifestyle—not a one-size-fits-all plan.

2

Behaviour Change That Works

We use science-backed behavioural strategies that work with your capacity—not against it.

3

Mind-Body Tools

From breathwork to nervous system regulation—we tap into physiology to support focus and recovery.

4

Strength-Based Focus

We rebuild confidence and momentum by using what’s already strong—not fixing what’s “wrong.”

5

Strategic Symptom Support

We use tools like pacing, stimulus control, and recovery planning to reduce crash-and-burn cycles.

6

Compassionate Structure

We design habits, schedules, and systems with flexibility, pacing, and your energy fluctuations in mind.

7

You get access to practical tools, audio guides, worksheets, trackers, and routines that support real change.

We look beyond coaching—connecting you with community, healthcare, routines, and self-advocacy strategies.

9

Psychologically Informed Practice

My methods draw from ACT, Positive Psychology, habit science, and solution-focused coaching.

How I Support Clients

Real tools. Real psychology. Real results.

I use a multidisciplinary approach that blends evidence-based coaching with lived experience. This table shows how I apply these tools to tackle the real-life challenges of people with narcolepsy, idiopathic hypersomnia, and chronic fatigue.

Each method is chosen based on your biology, your goals, and what’s actually doable — not just ideal on paper. It’s coaching that adapts to you, not the other way around.
